Our team played a pivotal role in the $315 million Girard Avenue and Interstate 95 Interchange improvement project in Philadelphia, a high-profile undertaking for PennDOT. This extensive project focused on critical transportation infrastructure upgrades, where we implemented a wide range of essential systems. Our work encompassed the installation of highway lighting, sign lighting, underpass wall grazers, decorative walkway lighting, traffic signals, fiber optics, and advanced Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) devices. The successful deployment of these ITS components was crucial for PennDOT and the City of Philadelphia, significantly enhancing their ability to manage traffic and incidents on regional highways, ultimately improving both safety and traffic flow.
Beyond the critical infrastructure elements, this project also involved the enhancement of public spaces, including a new multi-use trail destined to become a popular part of the Delaware River Greenway. Recognizing the importance of both functionality and aesthetics in such a high-traffic public area, our team provided a variety of lighting solutions to ensure a safe and visually appealing environment. This included the installation of numerous pedestrian-friendly and decorative LED lights beneath the highway, alongside additional underpass wall grazers. This successful project stands as a testament to PennDOT's ongoing commitment since 2009 to continuously improve Philadelphia's transportation infrastructure.
