When Park City set out to build its own Traffic Management Center (TMC) in 2018, our team supported the project from start to finish. We provided turnkey services from concept through construction and operations, taking the City from an idea to a working center. Although the TMC is small in scale and staffed by the City on a part-time basis through the year, it has been operated by the City for the last eight years, which shows how well a right-sized facility can serve a community. Today, our team is working with the City on the next chapter: moving TMC operations to the City's Public Works facility while keeping a video presence at the original location, so the City can continue providing video feeds to police dispatch.

What makes this project unique is that our staff has been instrumental in both the Park City TMC and the UDOT Traffic Operations Center in Salt Lake City, and the two centers share resources. Video is shared from UDOT to Park City, and traffic signal control and operations are shared across jurisdictions as well. For the public, that means a seamless transportation experience whether they're traveling on a Park City street or a UDOT highway. It's a model of cross-agency collaboration that shows what's possible when a city and a state work from the same playbook, and our team's presence on both sides of the relationship helps keep it running smoothly.
