We completed a significant electrical project for Omni Materials at their Chicago distribution facility, a key hub in their nationwide network of material terminals. This private company is vital to distributing infrastructure supplies across the nation's midsection via waterways, rail, and highways. Our team provided a new 3,000-amp, 277/480-volt, 3-phase electrical service for their silo expansions on the Southside of Chicago. As the electrical contractor from start to finish, we delivered a robust power solution for their new loader and conveyor system. This expansion was essential for their operations, which involve transporting dry products from Lake Michigan barges into their facility, unloading them into silos, and then loading trucks for distribution.
This comprehensive, $1.7 million electrical project involved supplying and installing an entirely new electrical system. Our work included: A completely new Com-Ed service and switchgear. An updated interior and exterior lighting system. Integrated electrical controls for critical equipment such as motor controls, bag loaders, conveyors, scales, air compressors, and dust collectors. This extensive project, covering over 15 acres, took over 18 months to complete. Our dedicated team, varying from two to seven members, ensured a smooth and successful execution. This project further showcases our team's commitment to building and maintaining critical transportation infrastructure for both private and public industries nationwide.
