The City of San Jose, the 12th largest in the United States, has a population of nearly one million residents. With over 920 traffic signals, the city features a diverse array of intersections, each with unique needs and challenges. Our team has been providing on-call traffic signal maintenance services to augment the in-house San Jose team for more than a decade. Our offerings include rapid response to knockdowns, signal repairs, electrical work, and fiber communication maintenance. Many of San Jose’s major intersections are also heavily used pedestrian routes. We collaborate with the city on several innovative pedestrian safety initiatives. San Jose is among the first cities to adopt the Vision Zero strategy, committing to continually enhancing roadway safety through new measures to protect pedestrians, and bicyclists.
The city has also prioritized accessibility by installing Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS) at signalized intersections. These devices offer audible and vibrational cues to assist pedestrians, particularly those who are visually or hearing impaired. Additionally, our safety infrastructure services extend to supporting the city in its maintenance of approximately 62,000 streetlights, supporting safe and well-lit streets throughout San Jose.
